SESSION 2: NEW ERA, NEW MINDSET
Staying Human in a Technical World
Technology is clearly taking over the world. You hear the trends everywhere: AI, conversational interfaces, chatbots, VR, AR, big data, personalization. Even if technology changes overnight, people don’t. They react to the same emotions and make decisions that are not rational. It’s way television advertising still works. How can we make sure that we don’t focus too much on tech and forget to focus on the human side of our (potential) clients? A short presentation on what will most likely stay the same in the foreseeable future and will be the key driver of decision making for most people.
Speaker:
-Matei Psatta, Digital Marketing Strategist
How Was Your Day Tomorrow?
Speaker:
-Sergiu Neguț, Associate Dean, Maastricht School of Management Romania
PANEL: Cybersecurity. Open SI vs Secure IT. The Dark Side of the Cloud
The heads of the IT&C function need to adapt to this reality and become one of the drivers of change or, at the very least, a strong supporter. Otherwise their contribution will be questioned and others (chief innovation, chief digital, etc.) might take the leadership generating shadow IT or duplication/non-synchronization of efforts.
The cloud is darkening: Increased could adoption means placing high-value assets such as own customer data outside the organization’s immediate control. Data leaches, Compromised credentials, malicious intruders. Yahoo recently admitted It Secretly Hacked All User Accounts For US Intelligence

PANEL: SECURITY. Are we really capable of protecting our data and users?
Internet of Things, the Trojan horse for the Cyberwar? Are CIOs ready to join the battle?
The explosion of interconnection of the physical objects, ranging from airplanes, refrigerators to artificial hearts or even children’s toys, into a single platform named Internet of Things is changing the world to a new reality. The positive and great potential of Internet of Things is amazing. But the new reality brings to the same table the cyber-criminals well equipped and ready to exploit vulnerabilities in new technologies, and to cause irreparable damage to both organizations and individuals. Are CIOs ready to fight the cyber war? Are the organizations aware of the threats of the new IoT reality? How prepared are the authorities to respond?
